exosome/skin needling therapy pre and post care instructions.

  • EXOSOME/SKIN NEEDLING PRE CARE INSTRUCTIONS.

  • Ensuring the skin's barrier function is properly maintained before conducting any skin needling treatments is crucial for several reasons. Firstly, it provides protection against potential infections by serving as the body's primary defense mechanism against pathogens. A healthy barrier also creates an optimal environment for the skin's natural healing processes to occur, promoting faster recovery and better outcomes post-needling. Additionally, an intact barrier enhances the efficacy of topical applications, allowing beneficial compounds like growth factors, peptides, and exosomes to penetrate effectively into the deeper layers of the skin. By minimising adverse reactions and promoting long-term skin health, maintaining proper barrier function contributes to the safety, efficacy, and overall success of skin needling treatments. Prioritising skin barrier integrity through appropriate pre-treatment assessment and care is essential for optimising treatment outcomes and ensuring client satisfaction and safety.

In addition to maintaining proper barrier function, ensuring optimal pre-care preparation is essential to maximise the effectiveness and safety of skin needling and exosome treatments by following this pre-treatment protocol:

    1. Sun Protection: Clients should avoid excessive sun exposure or tanning beds for at least two weeks prior to the procedure. Sunburned or overly tanned skin can increase the risk of complications and compromise the results of the treatment.

    2. Hair Removal: Clients should refrain from waxing, tweezing, or undergoing any other hair removal treatments in the treatment area for at least one week before the scheduled appointment. Hair removal methods can cause skin irritation or damage, making it more susceptible to post-treatment reactions.

    3. Skincare Products: Clients should discontinue the use of retinoids, alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs), beta hydroxy acids (BHAs), and other exfoliating agents for at least three days to one week before the treatment. These products can increase skin sensitivity and irritation, leading to discomfort during the procedure. TSS Base Range can be used without any precautions.

    4. Hydration: Adequate hydration is essential for maintaining skin health and promoting optimal healing. Clients should drink plenty of water in the days leading up to the treatment to ensure their skin is well-hydrated and prepared for the procedure.

    5. Medication Review: Clients should inform their artist about any medications they are currently taking, especially blood-thinning medications or supplements like aspirin or fish oil. These medications can increase the risk of bruising or bleeding during the treatment and may need to be temporarily discontinued under medical guidance.

    6. Personal Hygiene: Clients should arrive for the appointment with clean skin and hair, if applicable, and avoid wearing any jewellery around the neck or face area. Jewellery can harbour a mix of dead skin cells, sunscreen, dirt, and bacteria, which can increase the risk of infection or adverse reactions during the treatment.

EXOSOME/SKIN NEEDLING AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS.

Cleanse the treated area with cool water and a gentle cleanser, as the skin may appear slightly pink or red post-treatment.

  • Some clients may expect some soreness or tenderness in the treated area for up to 2 weeks following the procedure.

  • Apply ice packs and a steroid cream to alleviate mild swelling if needed. Avoid picking at scabs to facilitate proper skin healing.

  • Mineral-based makeup can be applied immediately after treatment. Opt for soothing, non-irritating creams or moisturisers.

  • Avoid direct sun exposure immediately post-treatment and use sunscreen with a minimum SPF of 30+.

  • Refrain from exfoliating or using products containing AHA/BHA's for at least a week or until skin sensitivity diminishes.

  • Avoid strenuous exercise or straining the treated area(s) for 1-4 days. Light activities like walking are acceptable after the initial 2 days post-treatment.

  • Increase protein intake to support skin healing and collagen regeneration. Consider incorporating a vitamin C supplement to promote collagen synthesis and skin health. Commencing a Vida Glow supplement regimen will further bolster collagen production and enhance overall skin health.

  • Only use anti-inflammatory medications (e.g., Nurofen, ibuprofen) if necessary for health conditions.

  • Post exosome therapy any residual ampoule can be applied topically 1-2x per day until product is used up. Keep ampoule refrigerated and follow correct hygiene/infection control.
